Terms of Use

These terms apply whenever Fremont Residents Directory is used. By continuing to use the reference, you agree to them. If you do not agree, stop using the service.

1. What the Reference Provides

Fremont Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections connected with Fremont and Alameda County, California. It describes sources and links to outside portals. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with Fremont, Alameda County, California, any court, or any records custodian.

2. Permitted and Prohibited Conduct

Use the reference only in a lawful, respectful way. Neither the pages nor anything reached through them may be used to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft or fraud
  • Make FCRA-regulated decisions (credit, employment, tenant, insurance)
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
  • Interfere with the site's operation or security

3. No Consumer Reporting Function

This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Its content and any response from a linked search tool are not consumer reports and may not be used to evaluate eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.

4. Third-Party Links

Government portals, libraries, archives, and sponsored search services operate under their own policies. Fremont Residents Directory does not control their content, availability, prices, security, or data practices.

5. No Warranty

The service is supplied "as is" and "as available," without warranties. No promise is made that a page, office detail, fee, coverage date, external link, or search result is accurate, complete, current, or available at a given time.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of this reference or an outside resource, including an action taken after finding a record.

7. Your Responsibility

You agree to indemnify and hold the operators harmless from a claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorney fees, caused by misuse of the service or violation of these terms.

8. Copyright and Reuse

The original writing, design, logo, and layout belong to the site operator and are protected by copyright. A link or short attributed quotation is welcome. Republishing whole pages or copying the material in a systematic way is not permitted.

9. Updates

New terms may be posted here from time to time. Use after an updated version appears means that the revised terms are accepted.

10. Access Restrictions

Access may be blocked or limited when a user violates these rules, harms another person, or abuses the service. The operator may take that step without advance notice.

11. California Law

California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The public-records references concern the California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000-7931.000. That statute governs requests to public agencies; it does not turn this private reference into a government custodian.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page.
